Solid and precise: the new identity of Gambini’s Quality Department

, da al , Stand

With the growth we’ve seen in recent years – plants in three continents, increasingly important international clients and innovative technology, now recognized even by end consumers -, strengthening our Quality Department was both necessary and spontaneous.

Our new Head of Quality, Marco Petrelli, with a contribution from Director of Production, Enrico Fruzzetti, shares in this exclusive interview the spirit and goals that enthusiastically drive his area, which are essential to continuing to ensure and enhance what we call quality, in all its facets.

Why did Gambini decide to strengthen the Quality Department?

Marco Petrelli
The market has changed significantly in recent years. Today, simply producing a quality product is no longer enough: customers and partners also evaluate a company’s organization, how it manages its processes and its commitment to continuous improvement.
Aspects such as certifications, sustainability, reliability and organization are increasingly important. This is why Gambini has chosen to strengthen this department, with the aim of better coordinating activities that would otherwise be distributed across different functions. This allows the company to continue its growth path smoothly.
Another change concerns the way we approach problems. Our goal is to go further: to understand why a certain situation occurred and ensure it does not happen again, thus reducing wasted time and resources and dedicating more energy to continuously improving.

What is the goal of Gambini’s Quality Department?

Enrico Fruzzetti
Our primary goal is the customer and their needs. We want Gambini to be increasingly recognized as a company capable of designing and building top quality machinery.
To achieve this goal, we have decided to strengthen this office, adding someone with Marco’s experience, and continue with an equally important internal project: improving all of our company’s processes. This is a goal we have been pursuing for a long time and the Quality Department’s work will also include developing shared procedures, working methods and documentation that will further foster the company’s growth.
Ultimately, product quality is a consequence of process quality.

What does the Quality Department actually do?

Marco Petrelli
We work on multiple fronts. On the one hand, we analyze non-conformities and recurring or occasional issues, using structured tools to identify the root causes and focus on the situations with the greatest impact. On the other hand, we collaborate with all departments to make processes increasingly robust and interconnected.

Marco, tell us a little about yourself and your journey.

Marco Petrelli
I’ve been working in the industrial sector for about fifteen years. I started in process engineering, defining production cycles in the aeronautics industry. Subsequently, I became increasingly involved in the world of quality, working in highly structured companies where this function was a key element. Over the years, I held the role of Quality Manager, managing both system and process quality.
My background and experience in the automotive sector, where quality standards are very high, have allowed me to gain a deep understanding of how a company operates and to work closely with all functions, both internal and external. Today, this experience helps me in my interactions with colleagues and in my dialogue with suppliers.

What convinced you about the Gambini project?

Marco Petrelli
Here, I immediately noticed that the desire to invest in quality comes from within the company. There’s an awareness that better organizing processes means investing in the future and making the company even more competitive. When change stems from a shared belief and not an external obligation, it’s easier to engage people and build lasting improvement.

A look into the future

Enrico Fruzzetti
I want to emphasize that quality has been and always will be one of Gambini’s distinguishing features. It doesn’t just concern the final product, but every phase of our work: from supplier selection to assembly, from testing to sales and organizational activities. Investing in quality means building a more efficient, more structured and even more reliable company. It’s a journey that will involve all of us and will allow us to continue growing together.
