Gambini: Home of the AirMill

, da al , Stand

At the latest edition of MIAC, the Gambini booth took on several different identities: a mural depicting a body of water gradually took shape throughout the days of the exhibition. Fiammetta Ghiazza – the Italian artist who also created the design for our stand in Miami – worked live in front of visitors, transforming a blank, anonymous and static wall into a constantly evolving space.

This spontaneous artistic happening perfectly mirrors the current phase the company is going through: we, too, are in the midst of a major shift, a transformation that is profoundly reshaping the tissue market as we have known it until now.

The Birth of the AirMill Technology Council

On Tuesday, October 6th, the first meeting of the AirMill Technology Council – a “club” for AirMill owners – was held at TissueHub. This invitation-only event offered an exclusive preview of new AirMill applications and was attended by companies from around the world: businesses that have been successfully using our wet embossing system for years.

The first initiative of the AirMill Technology Council was the creation of an official logo for the AirMill technology. Many companies already include various labels on their packaging, in order to highlight the specific qualities that wet embossing imparts to their products; qualities that are now well-recognized by end consumers. Starting today, those who use AirMill can feature this badge on their packaging, showcasing a technology that major retail buyers are increasingly beginning to request.

A whole booth just for the AirMill

It was therefore inevitable that we would dedicate our entire stand to AirMill: from the new Concept Roll on display to a mural themed around the element of water.

From our Research & Development department, TissueHub, comes the latest C-TAD all-purpose towel: it’s called “Blu”. In this instance, its most significant feature lies in how we chose to present it. On the shelves of our stand, visitors encountered a product that looked like it belonged in a supermarket: “Blu” was packaged with its own bespoke design, prominently featuring the AirMill Technology logo. It served as a tangible demonstration, for both current and prospective clients, of how packaging can effectively communicate the language of high-quality technology.

The benefits of AirMill, now also for toilet paper

Much like the Concept Roll, the true stars of this edition were the Deco Booster products. Created in our TissueHub, these products represent the ultimate application of the AirMill technology to toilet paper, achieved by layering independently embossed sheets, held together with a minimal amount of glue.

In this way, the softness and the aesthetic appeal of C-TAD technology are finally brought to a toilet paper product. This was precisely the focus of the presentation given by Bartolomeo Marco Betti: “A new promise on European shelves”.

Open House: go, Brazil!

For this edition, the doors of TissueHub remained open, as is customary. Customers had the opportunity to visit our Research & Development facility and see the 2,850 mm-wide Integrated Pilot Line; engage in discussions with our team; witness a demonstration of the new coreboard unwinder, an automated and crucially safe machine, designed to unwind the cardboard strips used to produce roll cores.

From November 23 to 27, Gambini Brasil will also host an Open House. At our Joinville production plant, visitors will be able to see the first tissue converting line made by Gambini entirely in Brazil. Two technologies will be on display, poised to reshape the Brazilian and South American markets: the Seicento rewinder and the TouchMax embosser, which enables rapid production change-overs, thereby eliminating the long machine downtimes typically associated with such transitions.
