Gambini’s experience at Tissue World 2025

, da al , Stand

At the 2025 edition of Tissue World, in Düsseldorf, we showcased our technologies and the vision that guides us every day.

A tissue converting idea that looks at the future, integrates new elements into the production process, and creates unexpected results.

A new way of conceiving tissue.

Water as a production variable

Until now, water was confined only to the paper-making phase; with AirMill it is now a strategic variable also in the converting process.
With wet embossing we introduced the element of water, radically changing tissue converting, which, on lines equipped with AirMill, is no longer to be seen as a moment of degradation of the paper but, rather, of conservation of its qualities and even of acquisition of new characteristics.

Thanks to water it is possible not only to preserve the original performance, but also to give tissue paper more volume, more strength and even the textured appearance typical of hybrid papers. This was the topic of our first speech at the show, given by our Head of Sales, Luca Perondi.

A new perspective, an innovative approach to tissue, which goes beyond the limits of production as it has always been conceived and thus allows saving fibers in the paper mill.

All the flexibility of C-TAD

At the exhibition we presented a Punta-calda product, developed at TissueHub, which best embodies the advantages of the most promising applications of the AirMill.

Punta-calda is a particular use of the wet embosser, which grants a result superior to the traditional Point-to-point system, but with lower costs and even more quickly. This new product, introduced in Germany, is a variant of the Punta-calda shown at Miac 2024, obtained however with a different web path, ensuring the same absorbency and greater strength, compared to the Point-to-point products normally available on European shelves. A demonstration of the extreme versatility of the AirMill.

The world’s first Integrated Pilot Line

The studies around the AirMill wet embosser are carried out at our Research & Development center: the TissueHub. In this plant there is a technology impossible to find elsewhere: the first full-scale Integrated Pilot Line in the world.

The focus of the speech at Tissue World given by our Chief Business Officer, Carlo Berti, was precisely our Integrated Pilot Line, which allows you to test Gambini’s technologies and carry out product trials with tests that have a reliability that we define as 1:1, which means that what is obtained on the pilot line coincides with what will then be the finished product that will finally be distributed.

A line equipped with AirMill and which, therefore, makes you experiment what the influence of water on the final result will be: an approach that changes the dynamics of the paper-making phase, in terms of costs and quality.

Alongside the pilot line there is the PatternLab, the TissueHub service entirely dedicated to embossing patterns, to which we also dedicated a special corner of our German booth.

Water is life, even in tissue. And Gambini, with AirMill, has introduced a new perspective, which overturns traditional dynamics and opens the door to ever-better renewed scenarios: more sustainable, less expensive and with improved characteristics.
